Only God Knows If I’ll Return To Liverpool – Tsimikas

Liverpool defender Kostas Tsimikas has said that he is keen to make a return to Merseyside when his season-long loan with Roma ends. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.

According to him, he certainly misses the city and people because he considers himself a die–hard Greek Scouser at heart.

Tsimikas added that he believes he can still make an impact at Anfield if the club decides to trigger his return.

His words, “I miss the city. I lived there for five years. I love everything in Liverpool. They have a special part of my heart. The people are very kind, some of the kindest I’ve ever met in football.

They’d always try to support the team, in good, in bad, they would always do their best to try to help you. I want everything for this club, because from day one, I was fully committed there. I was the Greek Scouser and I always will be, I’ll keep it for my whole life.

You never know. The most important thing for me is to be healthy, to train hard, to play more games. Next year is a different story for me. I want to be successful, I want to win things. Only God knows what will happen in the next year.”

Anfield was built in 1884 on land adjacent to Stanley Park. Situated 2 miles (3 km) from Liverpool city centre, it was originally used by Everton before the club moved to Goodison Park after a dispute over rent with Anfield owner John Houlding. Left with an empty ground, Houlding founded Liverpool in 1892 and the club has played at Anfield ever since. The capacity of the stadium at the time was 20,000, although only 100 spectators attended Liverpool’s first match at Anfield.
