Popular British singer Ed Sheeran has said he found out about Taylor Swift’s engagement on Instagram via someone else’s phone. He recently revealed that they had plenty to chat about the last time they linked up.
Chatting about his Netflix special, “One Shot with Ed Sheeran,” during an Access Hollywood interview published on YouTube, Ed Sheeran disclosed that he did not bother to discuss it with Swift until they met face to face.
According to him, because Taylor has always been a close friend, not just a colleague, he preferred to discuss her big step in person.
The “Thinking Out Loud” crooner stated that when they finally met a week after her engagement, their four-hour catch-up was everything and more.
“My way of viewing it is like, me and Taylor are mates, and I will see her.
And I saw her a week after that happened. So I did that interview and then I saw her and you talk in person. I kind of feel like being in touch with everyone — sort of — you lose actual human connection.
When I saw Taylor. We had like a four-hour catch-up and it’s life stuff, rather than … you know what I mean,” he said.
Ed Sheeran further noted that his friendship with Swift began over a decade ago, in 2012, after he served as the opening act on her “Red” tour.
He concluded by saying that despite being friends for years, he and Swift mainly see each other when they see each other.
“I’m not self-conscious about my relationship with her. We’ve been friends for very, very many years. We’re super close and we see each other when we see each other.
When we see each other. We lock back into where we left off,” he added.
