The faction of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, aligned with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has declared several prominent party figures — including Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and former Acting National Chairman Umar Damagum — as impostors who are no longer members of the party.
The position was contained in a statement issued by the PDP National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu, on Monday.

Anyanwu warned the public against engaging with those involved in the recently held National Convention in Ibadan, Oyo State, insisting that they had been expelled and therefore lacked the authority to parade themselves as party members.
The statement listed those purportedly expelled by the National Executive Committee (NEC) on November 18, 2025, for “anti-party activities and gross misconduct.”
The names include Bala Mohammed, Dauda Lawal, Seyi Makinde, Emmanuel Udom, Adolphus Wabara, Taofeek Arapaja, Kabiru Turaki, Ben Obi, Bode George, and Okechukwu Obiechina.
Others listed are Emmanuel Ogiad, Emmanuel Ebiden, Sumaita Adamu Bunza, Koshoedo Setonji, Suleiman Kadade Mohammed, Daniel Woyengikuro, Umar Iliya Damagum and Umar Sani.
According to the statement:
“The general public and PDP faithful should be aware that in accordance with the PDP Constitution (2017 as amended), these individuals were duly expelled by the NEC… for various offences bordering on anti-party activities and gross misconduct.”
It added that anyone recognising or supporting the affected persons “does so at his or her own peril.”
Anyanwu further stressed that the PDP has not held its National Convention, dismissing the Ibadan gathering as “a charade and mere social event” that failed to comply with subsisting court orders.
“Anybody parading himself as a newly elected national officer of the party is an imposter and a meddlesome interloper,” the statement said.
As of press time, those named in the statement had yet to publicly respond to the claims.
