The National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Senator David Mark, has called on Nigerians to rally behind the party’s mission to build a better country.
The call was contained in a statement issued on Thursday in Kano by his Special Adviser on Media, Paul Mumeh, as part of Mark’s New Year message to Nigerians.

Mark acknowledged that 2025 was a difficult year for many citizens, citing the rising cost of living, food, basic drugs and transportation as major challenges confronting the populace.
He criticised the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led Federal Government over what he described as the imposition of stringent taxes, warning that such policies would only “renew hopelessness” among Nigerians.
The ADC national chairman emphasised his party’s commitment to patriotism and service to the people, urging Nigerians to overcome doubts and join what he described as a historic mission to reposition the country.
Mark expressed confidence in the power of the people and the possibility of building a better Nigeria despite current challenges.
“Yet, 2025 also brought a defining moment: the launch of Nigeria’s opposition coalition under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on July 2,” he said.
He noted that since the announcement of the coalition, the party has received overwhelming support and enthusiasm from Nigerians across the country.
“Since we announced the coalition, we have been encouraged by the overwhelming support and enthusiasm of ordinary Nigerians across the length and breadth of our country,” Mark stated.
While admitting that the party is not perfect, he stressed its sense of duty and commitment to national progress.
“We do not claim to be perfect, but do not doubt our sense of duty and our commitment to be on the good side of history,” he added.
