The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has no right to complain about the conduct of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by its National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong, the PDP said the APC must take responsibility for the political consequences of its actions in Rivers State.
According to the party, Wike is no longer a member of the PDP, accusing the APC of knowingly aligning with him for political advantage and now raising objections after the relationship has become problematic.

The PDP’s reaction followed a public exchange between Wike and the APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru, over political developments in Rivers State, after Basiru openly backed Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
The opposition party said the APC scribe might be relying on outdated information by suggesting that Wike was still a member of the PDP.
“The National Secretary of the APC may genuinely not know who is or is not a member of the PDP and may therefore be relying on outdated information suggesting that Wike was a PDP member,” the statement said.
The PDP maintained that Wike and his supporters had been expelled from the party, stressing that the APC deliberately engaged him despite knowing his status.
“Wike was expelled from the PDP, along with his supporters, and that is why we sympathise with the problem the APC has brought upon itself by engaging Wike; someone they now lack the moral or legal standing to disown,” it added.
The party further stated that the APC could not complain about a situation it willingly created.
“The law does not allow you to benefit from a wrong you created, nor can you complain of a voluntary injury. You cannot complain about an act you willingly undertook.
They should manage the situation they have created. What was once seen as an asset has now become a liability, and they must deal with it,” the PDP said.
