Manchester United defender Harry Maguire has admitted that interim manager Michael Carrick is a very good player in training. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, the 44-year-old remains the best passer at the club despite retiring many years ago, and he can only hail Carrick and Steve Holland’s hands-on approach as coaches.
Maguire added that he has been unsurprised by the seamless transition Carrick has made into the dugout.
His words, “He still does demos in passing drills and he still bangs it through the lines like he’s still got it. He was doing the demos the other day, and I think he did two passes. Everyone did about 300. I think his two were the best I’ve seen out of them all!
He’s still got it. And he’s really hands-on in training.
Also, you’ve got Steve [Holland] as well there. When I was working with Steve at England, he was really hands-on in terms of taking most of the training sessions. So you’ve got two coaches there who like to get involved and I think it’s really good.”

That triumph allowed the club to compete in the European Super Cup for the first time, where United beat European Cup holders Red Star Belgrade 1–0 at Old Trafford. The club appeared in two consecutive League Cup finals in 1991 and 1992 the left and the right, but he’s not got any sense of danger yet, and empties the midfield area too readily.
