Wike Has Always Stood by PDP — Factional Chairman Mohammed

The factional National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Abdulrahman Mohammed, has said that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has consistently stood by the party.

Mohammed made the assertion on Monday while addressing members during a factional meeting of the PDP Board of Trustees (BoT) held in Abuja.

He said the party had reached a critical point where deliberate efforts must be made to reposition it and restore its strength.

In his address, Mohammed expressed appreciation to members of the BoT for their continued support of the National Caretaker Committee under his leadership.

“Esteemed leaders of our great party, it is with gratitude to Almighty Allah and a deep sense of honour that I welcome the BoT members to this all-important meeting of our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party,” he said.

“I want to begin by appreciating our BoT Chairman, the Secretary and all members for your genuine support to the National Caretaker Committee under my leadership. We cannot take your support for granted.

“We recognise the burdens you carry and acknowledge your firm commitment to the party,” Mohammed added.

The factional chairman also commended the FCT minister, Nyesom Wike, for what he described as unwavering loyalty to the PDP.

“I want to also extend my heartfelt gratitude to our leader, the FCT minister, for standing by us at all times. We are grateful,” he said.

Mohammed noted that with the Christmas and New Year holidays over, the time had come for decisive action to reposition the party.

“Christmas and New Year break is over. It is high time to focus on the mandate given to us as Caretaker Committee members to put our party on the right track.

“We have initially waited for the holidays to be over and now is the time for action,” he stated.
