The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jigawa State on Saturday concluded its local government congresses across the 27 local government areas of the state.
The congresses were reportedly conducted peacefully at all local government headquarters.
In several councils visited by observers, including Ringim, Taura, Gagarawa, Jahun and Miga, party executives were elected by consensus in line with the party’s constitution.

Speaking at the event, the lawmaker representing Kanya Babba Constituency in the State House of Assembly and Chairman of the Miga Local Government APC Congress Committee attributed the peaceful conduct of the exercise to the leadership of Umar Namadi, noting that his administration had fostered stability within the party.
Local government party chairmen also commended the governor for promoting unity among members.
According to them, they were satisfied with the governor’s leadership style and pledged to work with the newly elected executives to secure victory for the party in the 2027 elections.
An APC stakeholder in the state, Yahaya Gidan Maza, expressed confidence in the party’s chances in future elections, citing what he described as growing support from opposition figures and ongoing developmental projects across the state.
He advised the newly elected party executives to carry all members along in order to sustain peace, unity and electoral success.
The development follows the party’s ward congresses conducted earlier in the week, during which party leaders were elected across the state’s 287 wards.
