The caretaker committee secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State, Michael Tidi, has defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking at a defection ceremony in Warri, Delta State, Tidi said his decision followed his assessment that his former party no longer had the strength to win elections in the state.
He stated that he felt relaxed reuniting with political allies in the APC, noting that joining the party allowed him to reconnect with old political friends and leaders.

The two-time Chairman of Warri South Local Government under the PDP said that after a critical evaluation of the political situation, he concluded that remaining united with his associates in the APC was the best decision.
“I am here in the APC to contribute to the beautiful story,” he said.
Chairman of Warri South Local Government, Weyinmi Agbateyiniro; APC chairman in the local government, Richard Pessu; and the member representing Warri South Constituency I in the Delta State House of Assembly, Augustine Uroye, in separate remarks, welcomed the new entrants, describing their defection as a positive development for the party.
The development comes amid earlier political realignments in Delta State, including the defection of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, who was elected on the PDP platform, alongside other prominent party leaders, to the APC.
