The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has announced plans to commence its continuous electronic membership registration nationwide from March 1, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Ejimofor Opara, disclosed this during a news conference on Friday in Awka.
Opara said the exercise would be conducted simultaneously across the country’s 8,809 electoral wards, noting that the initiative reflects APGA’s commitment to innovation, transparency and inclusivity in party administration.

He explained that the party became the first political party in Nigeria to automate its membership registration process in June 2024, describing the move as a pioneering step to improve efficiency and expand participation.
According to him, the electronic registration, which had earlier commenced, will officially reopen on March 1 and is open to all interested Nigerians.
Opara stated that prospective members are required to present a valid voter’s card and two passport photographs to complete the process, adding that registration can also be carried out online through the party’s official website.
He noted that new members would receive a temporary membership slip after registration pending the issuance of permanent membership cards.
The spokesperson clarified that existing members who had already registered electronically are not required to re-register but advised them to upload passport photographs to update their records via the party’s website or designated WhatsApp platform.
Opara urged eligible Nigerians to take advantage of the exercise to join the party and contribute to national development.
He added that APGA is approaching the one-million membership mark, stressing that the current drive is aimed at increasing the figure to two million.
