The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has dismissed reports alleging that its Interim National Chairman, David Mark, has resigned from his position.
The party described the claims as false and misleading, insisting that there is no plan or discussion regarding his resignation.

In a statement issued by the National Chairman’s Media Office, the reports were labelled “an insidious fabrication” orchestrated by individuals seeking to create confusion within the party.
“The assertion that Senator David Mark has stepped down exists only in the imagination of those bent on spreading falsehood and destabilising our party,” the statement read.
The ADC maintained that Mark remains the substantive National Chairman and that the party’s leadership is united and focused on strengthening its internal structures.
It further warned against attempts to undermine the party, attributing such actions to fears over its growing influence ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“The ADC, its leadership, and the majority of Nigerians are unbending in their determination to resist any plot aimed at undermining Nigeria’s multi-party democracy or imposing a one-party system,” the statement added.
The party urged Nigerians to disregard the rumours and remain confident in the stability of its leadership.
