A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has officially welcomed the immediate past Deputy Governor of Kano State, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, into the party.
Kwankwaso described Gwarzo’s defection as a major boost to the party’s growing structure ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The former New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) presidential candidate disclosed this via his official X handle on Monday.
He commended Gwarzo’s decision to join the opposition coalition, noting that his experience would strengthen the party.
“I heartily congratulate Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, the immediate past Deputy Governor of Kano State, on his decision to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC),” Kwankwaso wrote.
He added that the reception held in honour of Gwarzo reflects increasing momentum within the party.
“The grand reception held yesterday in Gwarzo Town has not only strengthened our ranks with his wealth of experience, but has also injected fresh energy and renewed enthusiasm into the party.
“Welcome home, Your Excellency, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo,” he added.
Gwarzo formally joined the ADC on Sunday during a well-attended event held in Gwarzo Town, Kano State.
