The Senate Minority Leader, Abba Moro, has attributed the persistent instability within political parties, particularly the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to the actions of party members rather than external interference.
Speaking during an interview on ARISE News on Thursday, Moro said the recurring crises affecting the PDP and other parties are largely self-inflicted, stressing that key stakeholders play a major role in fueling internal disputes.
“I believe the responsibility lies mainly with political actors,” he said, noting that the visible turmoil within parties stems from their internal dynamics.

He added that those in leadership positions, including governors, lawmakers, and senior party officials, bear the greatest responsibility for the challenges confronting the party.
Addressing reports of divisions within the PDP, Moro dismissed claims that the party is fragmented, insisting that it remains a unified entity.
“There is only one PDP,” he stated.
The lawmaker also reflected on previous internal conflicts, particularly the controversial party convention held in Ibadan, which he said worsened the situation.
According to him, the convention was conducted despite a subsisting court order restraining it, a development that later led to its nullification by the Court of Appeal.
