Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior has admitted that the Blues have a mountain to climb to qualify for the UCL next season. He recently had his say after a 1-0 defeat to Manchester United put another dent in their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League.
According to him, even though it’s still not an insurmountable challenge, only a victory against Brighton can kickstart the rest of Chelsea‘s season.

Rosenior added that he does not know how missing out on UCL football will affect CFC’s transfer plans in the summer.
His words, “It gives us a mountain to climb. It’s not insurmountable but it gives us a mountain to climb and we have to go into Brighton with an idea that we have to win that game and kickstart the rest of our season.
The honest answer is we’re still fighting and we’ll address that situation at the end of the season, whatever the situation is. In terms of the game tonight, it’s a really, really difficult one to take because people don’t want to hear me say how well we played and didn’t win the game. We’re here to win.
There are many elements actually that the process of underlying things that we’re looking into suggest that if you stay in this process we will win games of football. It doesn’t look like it at the moment but the reality is Manchester United have come in, had one shot, won a goal against 10 men and won a game 1-0 which should be pretty much impossible.”
WOW.
Chelsea Football Club is an English professional football club based in Fulham, West London. Founded in 1905, they play their home games at Stamford Bridge.
The club competes in the Premier League, the top division of English football. They won their first major honour, the League championship, in 1955. The club won the FA Cup for the first time in 1970, their first European honour, the Cup Winners’ Cup, in 1971, and became the third English club to win the Club World Cup in 2022.
On 7 May 2022, Chelsea confirmed that terms have been agreed for a new ownership group, led by Todd Boehly, Clearlake Capital, Mark Walter and Hansjörg Wyss, to acquire the club. The group was later known as BlueCo.
The UK government approved the £4.25bn takeover, ending Abramovich’s 19-year ownership of the club. Bruce Buck, who served as chairman since 2003, was replaced by Boehly, while long-serving club director and de facto sporting director Marina Granovskaia left, as did Petr Čech from the role of technical and performance advisor.
