Adebutu’s declaration was conveyed in a letter dated April 30, 2026, addressed to the PDP leadership at both the state and local government levels. The document was made available to journalists on Friday through his media aide, Afolabi Orekoya.

The letter was routed through the party’s leadership in Odogbolu Local Government Area and directed to the Ogun State PDP Chairman.
In the correspondence, Adebutu expressed appreciation to party leaders and members for their continued support and loyalty, emphasising the need for unity and a shared vision as the party prepares for the next electoral cycle.

Adebutu also highlighted his longstanding involvement in the party, noting his contributions to strengthening its structure and influence across the state.
Describing himself as a loyal and law-abiding member, he said his decision to re-contest was driven by a desire to build on past experiences and deliver impactful governance.
He outlined continuity, people-oriented policies, and inclusive development as key components of his agenda.
The PDP chieftain further urged stakeholders to remain united and focused, stressing that internal cohesion would be critical to the party’s success in the 2027 governorship election.
