Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, has officially sworn in 18 commissioners recently screened and cleared by the Anambra State House of Assembly.
The swearing-in ceremony was held at the Executive Council Chambers of the new Government House, also known as Light House, in Awka.

Addressing the newly inaugurated commissioners, Soludo said their appointments were a call to rigorous work, sacrifice and public accountability rather than personal celebration.
The governor urged them to immediately focus on governance, stressing that their decisions would directly affect the lives of more than nine million residents of the state.
“I charge you to run your respective ministries with a high level of prudence and synergy. I formally welcome you to the reconstituted State Executive Council, which I like to reference as ‘Team Solution 2.0’,” he said.
The commissioners sworn in include Ben Odoemena (Agriculture), Chukwukadibia Okoye, FCCA (Budget and Economic Planning), Udoji Amedu (Culture, Entertainment and Tourism), and Dr. Ekene Ogugua (Education).
Others are Dr. Clem Aguiyi (Environment), Dr. Afam Obidike (Health), Dr. Law Mefor (Information and Value Reformation), Professor Offornze Amucheazi, SAN (Lands), and Vin Ezeaka (Local Government and Community Affairs).
Also sworn in were Prof. Charles Ofoegbu (Petroleum and Mineral Resources), Chijioke Oseloka Ojukwu (Physical Planning and Urban Development), Engr. Casmir Agummadu (Power), Engr. Okey Ezeobi (Works and Infrastructure), Eddy Ibuzo (Transport), Esther Onyekesi (Women Affairs and Social Development), Patrick Agha, MBA (Youth Development and Sports), Arc. Henry Arinze (Housing), and Mr. Nonso Chukwuma Ebonwu (Commerce).
The governor had earlier sworn in Barr. Tochukwu Nweke as Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mrs. Chiamaka Nnake as Secretary to the State Government, and Izuchukwu M. Okafor as Commissioner for Finance.
Heads of agencies also inaugurated by the governor include the Managing Director of the Anambra Road Traffic Agency, ARTMA, Mr. Emeka Okonkwo; Managing Director of the Awka Capital Territory Development Authority, ACTDA, Dr. Ossy Onuko; Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Information Communication Technology Agency, Mr. Fred Agbata; and Managing Director of the Bureau of Public Procurement, BPP, Engr. Obi Okonkwo.
