The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Benue State chapter, has affirmed 37 consensus candidates to fly the party’s flag in the forthcoming State House of Assembly elections following a selection exercise held on May 22, 2026.
In a statement signed by the PDP State Publicity Secretary in Benue, Bright Yima Antyo, the party confirmed that the candidates emerged as consensus flag-bearers across various state constituencies after extensive internal consultations.
According to the statement, the exercise reflected the party’s commitment to unity, internal democracy, and peaceful consensus-building ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The affirmed candidates include Ayo Jeremiah Terungwa for Kwande East State Constituency, Igbaakaa Aondoakura James for Konshisha I, Girgi Daniel Terlumun for Tiev State Constituency, and John Anthony Ikwulono for Agatu State Constituency.
Others are Ekirigwe Moses Adams for Oju I, Oragande Iveren Geoffrey for Katsina-Ala East, Utsan Ngusha Fredrick for Gwer East, and Adugh Mtindiga for Katsina-Ala West State Constituency.
The list also includes Dajoh Hyacinth Aondona for Gboko West, Emmanuel Benjamin for Konshisha II, Ikpa Ambrose Aondowase for Makurdi South-East, Bemsen Agugu Bernard for Mbagwa, and John Tersur for Tarka State Constituency.
Also affirmed were Unah Gabriel for Apa State Constituency, Chula Fidelis Iorkase for Kwande West, Akooma Aondoakura Aaron for Logo, Ukaa Ikyuan Abraham for Ukum II, and Mtagher Rodney Ortwer for Agasha State Constituency.
Further candidates include Dickson Igbe Uwagh for Makurdi South, Joseph Agada Anyebe for Ogbadibo, Prince Tyodoo Livinus for Ukum I, Dzever Terkimbi for Buruku, and Shawa Terungwa Moses for Gboko Central.
The party also affirmed Olofu Gabriel Adah for Adoka/Ugboju State Constituency, Ochekliye Agbo Isaac for Ohimini, Onche Peter Ogbor for Obi, Bemgba Iortyom for Mata, and Manger Timothy for Nyamatsor State Constituency.
Others are Gyila Solomon Terlumun for Gwer West, Dugeri Benjamin Ternenge for Kyan, Jerome Ilom for Okpokwu, Nomji Oroduen Titus for Makurdi North, and Johnson Ahubi Egli for Otukpo/Akpa State Constituency.
Ochapa Isaac Odang emerged as the consensus candidate for Ado State Constituency, while Iormbagah Jacob Aondohemba was affirmed for Guma I, Ogbugo Christian Egbe for Oju II, and Chia Lubem Asuwa for Gboko East State Constituency.
The PDP reiterated its commitment to strengthening internal cohesion and mobilising support across the state ahead of the forthcoming elections.
