Popular cleric, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has criticised the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the worsening security situation in Nigeria, alleging that the government lacks the courage to confront insecurity decisively.
In a statement released by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Ayodele claimed that both the Federal Government and security agencies are aware of the individuals and groups responsible for insecurity across the country but have failed to take decisive action against them.
The cleric alleged that Nigeria’s insecurity crisis began after some politicians allegedly used armed groups for political purposes and later lost control of them.

According to him, “The Nigerian government isn’t taking the issue of security seriously because it’s looking like a curse to the Nigerian government.”
He further stated that “the secret of insecurity is known to the government and all service chiefs, but they are scared.”
Ayodele also alleged that some traditional rulers are linked to insecurity in parts of the country, questioning why authorities had not taken action against those allegedly involved.
The cleric argued that insecurity had now become a business in Nigeria and warned that the crisis could persist unless the government is prepared to take tough and decisive measures.
