The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has cleared former Cross River State Governor, Donald Duke, as the party’s presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections.
The clearance followed the conclusion of the review of the party’s recent primary elections by the Primaries Appeal Committee, whose report was subsequently approved by the NWC.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Saturday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Muhammed Ishaq.

According to Ishaq, the NWC also ratified the results of the governorship, Senate, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly primaries conducted across the country.
He stated that all candidates declared winners in the various primaries were approved to contest the 2027 general elections, with the exception of the Tarauni Federal Constituency in Kano State, where the primary election was cancelled.
Ishaq further disclosed that the party plans to field a total of 420 candidates for various elective positions in the forthcoming general elections.
“In line with our dedication to being actively involved in the election process, the PRP is proud to have 420 candidates running for all the positions in the 2027 general elections,” he said.
The party spokesperson reaffirmed the PRP’s commitment to the principles of internal democracy, transparency and service to the people.
He added that the party remains focused on providing credible and transformative leadership for Nigeria through its candidates in the 2027 polls.
