Barcelona midfielder Dani Olmo has warned his international team-mate Marc Cucurella following the defender’s surprise summer switch to Real Madrid. Recall that the Spaniard recently committed to a lucrative six-year contract at the Santiago Bernabeu, and fans have been reacting.
Reacting, Olmo admitted that the squad remained completely unaware of the impending transfer but wished his close friend well despite their new domestic rivalry.
Dani, however, added that he hopes Cucurella is ready to suffer against Yamal during El Clásico matches.
His words, “We didn’t expect it. He kept it inside. If that’s what he wanted, I’m happy for him because he’s my friend, now he’s going to have to suffer in the league and so will we.
He’s going to have to suffer against Lamine, for example.
It’s normal that after two years without a win they are reinforced, they are world-class players, but we are not worried. We have made a great signing with Gordon and we are happy.”
