President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, on his re-election, describing the victory as a clear vote of confidence in continuity, stability and people-centred governance.
Tinubu stated this in a congratulatory message following Oyebanji’s victory in Saturday’s governorship election.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had on Sunday declared Oyebanji, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), winner of the election.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President commended the people of Ekiti State for their peaceful and orderly conduct during the election and for renewing their mandate to the governor.
He also praised security agencies for maintaining law and order throughout the electoral process.
Tinubu further urged INEC to sustain its commitment to conducting peaceful, free, fair and credible elections as the country prepares for the Osun State governorship election in August and the 2027 general elections.
According to the President, Oyebanji’s re-election reflects the confidence of Ekiti residents in his administration’s performance during his first term in office.
“With his overwhelming victory in the election, Oyebanji has emerged as the first governor in the history of Ekiti State to win re-election back-to-back.
“Governor Oyebanji’s first term was marked by significant strides in infrastructure, agriculture, youth employment, education, healthcare and rural development under his agenda.
“The renewed mandate is therefore a clear vote of confidence in continuity, stability and people-centred governance,” the statement read.
Tinubu wished the governor a successful second term and expressed confidence that he would continue to deliver democratic dividends to the people of Ekiti State.
