The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has dismissed allegations that former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, purchased 69 nomination forms to take over the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The party was reacting to claims by Abdulkadir Musa Giza, who identified himself as the chairman of the North-West Stakeholders Forum of the PRP, alleging that Kwankwaso had taken control of the party’s structure.
Speaking with journalists on Monday, the PRP Secretary, Alhaji Musa Maigari, described the allegations as false and unfounded, insisting that Kwankwaso neither purchased nomination forms nor has any official relationship with the party.

“As it stands, all positions in PRP have been filled. Primary elections are over, and every political party has concluded its primaries,” Maigari said.
He questioned the credibility of the source of the allegations, stating that the individual behind the claims is not a member of the party.
“The man who raised these allegations is not even our member. It is laughable at this time, when primaries are over, someone is talking about primaries or nomination forms,” he added.
Maigari further maintained that the alleged North-West Stakeholders Forum is not recognised by the PRP and stressed that there is no record indicating that Kwankwaso or any of his representatives purchased nomination forms from the party.
According to him, the timing of the allegations is suspicious, particularly as the party has already concluded its primary elections for the next electoral cycle.
The PRP secretary urged the public to disregard what he described as baseless rumours and rely only on information issued through the party’s official communication channels.
He reaffirmed that the party remains focused on its political activities and preparations ahead of future elections.
