Human rights activist, Aisha Yesufu, has accused members of the Nigerian Senate of enabling what she described as the “evil” being perpetrated by President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Yesufu made the remark in a statement posted on her verified X handle on Friday while reacting to comments by the senator representing Kebbi South Senatorial District, Garba Maidoki.
The activist urged lawmakers to stop portraying themselves as victims, insisting that they share responsibility for the country’s current situation.

Her reaction followed Maidoki’s emotional outburst in the Senate, where he lamented the worsening insecurity in his constituency, saying bandits were killing his people.
According to the senator, he had stood up during plenary to appeal to Nigerians to come to their aid over the persistent attacks by bandits in Kebbi State.
Responding, Yesufu wrote: “Senators should stop infantilizing themselves! They are not victims. They are enablers of whatever evil Tinubu is carrying out in this country.”
