Senior Political Assistant to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, Demola Olarenwaju, has called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the Department of State Services (DSS) and other security agencies to invite President Bola Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, for questioning over his alleged links to the purported Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC).
Olarenwaju said the anti-graft and security agencies should subject Gbajabiamila to the same treatment given to former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, who is currently facing trial over alleged fraud and abuse of office.
He made the call in a post on his X handle on Tuesday.

The demand follows allegations surrounding Adeyemi Adeyemo, who reportedly presented himself as the Director-General of the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council, an organisation the Presidency has said does not exist.
On June 11, 2026, Gbajabiamila said he did not know Adeyemo before he introduced himself as the PFIPC Director-General.
According to the Chief of Staff, his office alerted security agencies in October 2025 after fake appointment letters linked to the organisation were discovered.
Adeyemo was subsequently arraigned before the Federal High Court on charges bordering on forgery, impersonation and obtaining by false pretence. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
President Bola Tinubu also directed that an independent investigation be conducted into the matter.
Reacting to the development, Olarenwaju argued that Gbajabiamila should step aside while investigations are ongoing.
“Gbajabiamila cannot remain in office as Chief of Staff to the President while being investigated by independent agencies that still require presidential directives to carry out their work,” he wrote.
He further alleged that the President’s refusal to suspend Gbajabiamila raised questions about his role in the matter.
“Gbaja and his accomplices should be suspended until the investigation is completed. Bola Tinubu’s hesitation to fire or even temporarily remove Gbajabiamila shows that he was completely involved in the whole corrupt operation and not just an innocent person who signed a document without reading it,” Olarenwaju stated.
He also criticised the EFCC, DSS and other security agencies for not taking immediate action before the President ordered an investigation.
“They should invite Gbajabiamila and treat him exactly the same way they have treated El-Rufai so far,” he added.
