Federico Chiesa has firmly stated his desire to remain at Liverpool this summer. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
Stressing that he wants to fight for his place under newly appointed head coach Andoni Iraola, Chiesa stated that he remains fully committed to starting a fresh chapter in the EPL.
Federico added that he is determined to help Liverpool have a significantly stronger domestic and European season than the last campaign.
His words, “Right now, at the moment, I am happy here at Liverpool. I love the club, I love the fans, I love everything. I am doing the best I can to have a chance here and then we will see. At the minute, the only thing I am thinking about is Liverpool.
The only conversations I’ve had with the coach have been about pressing and tactics.
He put me striker today. I have played my whole career as a winger but I am happy to play striker as well. We have been training two weeks now with a new coach and we have seen what he wants. He wants high intensity, one versus one all over the pitch, that’s what we wanted to show today.
Liverpool deserves more. Two seasons ago we were Premier League champions. Last season we almost went out of the Champions League spots. We were battling for fifth, which was enough at the time but as we know usually only four clubs go in. We were lucky. It was a tough season and this season we need to do better in the Champions League as well. I think we’ve got the squad to do that.”

Anfield was built in 1884 on land adjacent to Stanley Park. Situated 2 miles (3 km) from Liverpool city centre, it was originally used by Everton before the club moved to Goodison Park after a dispute over rent with Anfield owner John Houlding. Left with an empty ground, Houlding founded Liverpool in 1892 and the club has played at Anfield ever since. The capacity of the stadium at the time was 20,000, although only 100 spectators attended Liverpool’s first match at Anfield.
