ADC reveals fresh plans for opposition coalition to unseat Tinubu

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has disclosed fresh strategies being considered by opposition parties as part of efforts to challenge President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 presidential election.

The party said the opposition coalition was focused on building a broad political alliance capable of presenting a strong alternative to the ruling party.

ADC stated that discussions among opposition leaders were ongoing, with emphasis on unity, coordination and the mobilisation of Nigerians ahead of the election.

The party maintained that the success of the coalition would depend on the willingness of opposition leaders to put aside personal ambitions and work towards a common objective.

It said the coalition was also exploring ways to strengthen its grassroots structures and attract support from Nigerians across different regions and political backgrounds.

ADC stressed that the proposed alliance would not be limited to politicians, but would also seek the involvement of civil society groups, professionals, youths and other stakeholders.

The party expressed confidence that a united opposition could provide a credible challenge to the APC and improve its chances of winning the 2027 presidential election.

It urged opposition supporters to remain committed to the coalition-building process as consultations continue.
