Human rights activist and African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has criticised Nigerian music star Davido over his reported meeting with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, following the Osun State governorship election.
Sowore questioned the decision by the singer to meet with Wike, particularly amid the political tensions surrounding the recently concluded election.

The activist argued that public figures should be mindful of their political associations and the messages such engagements could send to their supporters and the wider public.
He also criticised what he described as the growing involvement of prominent entertainers in political activities without sufficient consideration of the implications of their actions.
Sowore maintained that Nigerians should hold political leaders and influential public figures accountable for their decisions and relationships.
The AAC chieftain’s comments come amid heightened political debate following the Osun election, which generated significant reactions from politicians and other public figures.
He urged Nigerians, particularly young people, to remain politically conscious and scrutinise the actions of those seeking to influence public opinion.
Sowore also called for greater accountability and transparency in Nigeria’s political system, stressing that political engagements should be guided by the interests of citizens rather than personal relationships.
The controversy has generated further discussion about the role of entertainers and other influential personalities in Nigeria’s political affairs.
