Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has said the opposition is preparing for a major political battle against what he described as individuals who have contributed to the looting of Nigeria.
Atiku made the remark while speaking on preparations for the 2027 general elections, stressing the need for Nigerians to demand accountability from political leaders.

The former vice president said the country could not make meaningful progress if public resources continued to be mismanaged.
He urged Nigerians to carefully examine the records of political leaders and make informed decisions at the ballot box.
Atiku also called on opposition politicians to remain united and focus on presenting a credible alternative to Nigerians ahead of the 2027 election.
He maintained that the opposition must work together to rescue the country from what he described as poor governance and economic hardship.
The former vice president’s comments come amid growing political realignments and preparations by opposition groups to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in the 2027 general elections.
