Tottenham have taken a massive gamble on Mykhailo Mudryk, Gus Poyet has said. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
Stressing that the young forward is returning after almost two years out of action, Poyet stated that Mudryk‘s speed is the only quality he can give his team on the pitch.

Gus added that the fact that he didn’t play for so long will also make him susceptible to injuries this season.
His words, “It’s a big gamble, yes. It’s a big gamble as well because I think he’s a very specific player.
He’s a player that has one quality, which is speed, amazing speed. And if it’s not good in his game, then that’s it.
So this one, I go the opposite way with [Enzo] Fernandez. I think this one, it was more the club saying, ‘OK, are we going to use him?’ Wing-back? No chance.
If he didn’t play for two years, we don’t know if he’s not going to get injured because normally these players, they get hamstring injuries, big money, we move on.
So also maybe they were not even counting on him after this kind of reduced sentence.
It became big news. Maybe they knew it was happening – I think it was more a club decision, this one, than the Fernandez one. The process, it was coming.”
