Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has criticised President Bola Tinubu’s administration over the rising cost of living, promising to make life more affordable for Nigerians if elected president in 2027.
Atiku said the economic policies of the Tinubu administration had made living conditions increasingly difficult for ordinary Nigerians, with many households struggling to cope with rising prices of goods and services.
The former vice president made the remarks while speaking on his political ambition and plans for the 2027 presidential election.
He argued that the government’s economic policies had failed to adequately protect Nigerians from the impact of inflation and other economic pressures.
Atiku promised that his administration would prioritise policies aimed at reducing the cost of living, creating jobs and improving the purchasing power of Nigerians.
He also pledged to strengthen the economy and create an environment that would enable businesses to thrive and provide more opportunities for citizens.
The former vice president urged Nigerians to carefully assess the performance of the present administration before deciding who to support in the 2027 election.
He maintained that the 2027 poll would provide Nigerians with an opportunity to choose a government capable of addressing the country’s economic challenges and improving their standard of living.
Atiku’s remarks come amid growing political activities and realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections, with opposition figures increasingly criticising the Tinubu administration and presenting alternative policy proposals to voters.
