Tottenham Hotspur manager Roberto De Zerbi has said that Mykhailo Mudryk suffered a stupid ankle injury in training. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
Expressing his frustration at the severe setback, De Zerbi stated that he already knew Mudryk’s return to football wouldn’t be seamless after his long ban.
The Italian, however, added that despite Spurs failing to win or score in their first three EPL matches, he believes the club has a strong enough squad to win games.
His words, “With Mudryk, it was a stupid injury and we hope he can come back as soon as possible. For him and for us.
For him because he suffered too much and for us because we lost an important player.
Playing without tackle, without different movement and he felt pain (in the) ankle and then after two days he made the medical check (scan) and we knew the problem.
A stupid injury but we are not stupid, eh? When we signed Mudryk, we already knew it could be difficult to come back as a normal player immediately.”
