PDP Cohesion in Cross River Due to Wike’s Efforts – Onor

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate in Cross River State, Sandy Onor, has attributed the cohesion within the party in the state to the efforts of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike.

Onor said Wike’s intervention had helped to strengthen unity among members of the party in Cross River State and encouraged stakeholders to work together.

He made the remarks while speaking about the political situation in the state and the role played by Wike in resolving disagreements among PDP stakeholders.

According to him, the FCT minister’s involvement had contributed to reducing divisions within the party and creating an atmosphere for greater cooperation among its members.

Onor said the PDP needed unity among its leaders and members to remain relevant in the political affairs of Cross River State and the country.

He commended Wike for what he described as his commitment to resolving internal disputes within the party, adding that the minister had demonstrated political leadership in bringing stakeholders together.

The PDP chieftain said political differences were inevitable within any organisation but should be managed through dialogue and reconciliation rather than allowed to weaken the party.

He also urged PDP members in Cross River to sustain the current level of cooperation and avoid actions capable of reopening old disagreements.

Onor’s comments come amid renewed political realignments within the PDP and other opposition parties ahead of the 2027 general election.

Wike, a former Rivers State governor and prominent PDP figure, has continued to play an active role in political affairs despite serving as a minister in the APC-led Federal Government.
