Veteran Nollywood actress Rita Edochie has declared her support for Peter Obi and Kwankwaso ahead of the January 2027 election. She recently had her say via her social media page, and Nigerians have been reacting.
Officially launching her campaign for the NDC, the moviestar urged her fellow citizens to dust off their Permanent Voter Cards and fight for the future of their children.
Rita added that any Nigerian who supports APC next year is not trying to see the country get better.
Her words, “IF YOU ARE SUPPORTING APC, IT MEANS YOU ARE JUST AFTER YOUR POCKETS NOT FOR THE BETTERMENT OF OUR COUNTRY NIGERIA.”
Peter Onwubuasi Gregory Obi CON is a member of the Nigeria Democratic Congress since 2026, Obi was the presidential candidate for Labour Party in the 2023 Nigerian presidential election and he is contesting the 2027 presidential election under Nigeria Democratic Congress.
Obi was born on 19 July 1961 in Onitsha, Anambra State, Nigeria to a devout Christian family from Agulu. He had his secondary education at Christ the King College, Onitsha, where he obtained his West African Examination Council (WAEC).
In 1980, he enrolled in the University of Nigeria in Nsukka, Enugu State, where he studied Philosophy until his graduation in 1984.[5] Obi studied at Lagos Business School, International Institute for Management Development in Switzerland, Harvard Business School, Saïd Business School in England, Cambridge Judge Business School, and Kellogg School of Management.
In 1992, Obi married Margaret Brownson and they have two children: Peter Gregory Oseloka and Gabriella Frances Nwamaka.
