The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kebbi State has announced plans to conduct fresh primaries for the Kebbi/Kalgo/Bunza Federal Constituency following a Federal High Court ruling on the party’s nomination process.
The party’s State Publicity Secretary, Haruna Haruna Maijega, said the state chapter had forwarded the court’s judgment to the national leadership and commenced preparations to comply with the directive.

Maijega explained that the court ordered a fresh primary election within 14 days, prompting the party to schedule the exercise for Wednesday, October 14, 2026.
According to him, the direct primaries will take place across the 35 wards in the affected constituency.
He said the party had informed aspirants, relevant local government officials, supporters and other stakeholders about the planned exercise.
The ADC spokesperson assured that the process would be conducted fairly, transparently and in accordance with the court’s directive, adding that all eligible aspirants would be given equal opportunities to participate.
He reaffirmed the party’s commitment to respecting court decisions and upholding due process in its internal affairs.
The fresh primaries are expected to determine the party’s candidate for the Kebbi/Kalgo/Bunza Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections.
