Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma has assured President Bola Tinubu of support from the state in the 2027 presidential election, declaring that the votes would reflect the genuine choice of the electorate.
Uzodinma gave the assurance on Tuesday in Owerri during the distribution of campaign vehicles by the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, a group mobilising support for Tinubu’s re-election.

The governor also warned members and coordinators of the movement against diverting the vehicles from their intended purpose, urging them to deploy the resources effectively in campaigning for Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He insisted that the APC remained the party to be supported in Imo State and ruled out the possibility of the Rainbow Coalition operating as a political alternative in the state.
“The All Progressives Congress, APC, is the only party that we can trust. Vote APC in the House of Assembly, APC for governor, APC for House of Representatives, Senate, crown it with APC for the presidency,” Uzodinma said.
The governor expressed confidence in the APC’s political standing in Imo, arguing that the party’s performance under Tinubu had earned the President support among residents.
“We have no other party. We will win our election in Imo State, and the votes that will come from Imo State are organic votes. These are votes that the owners have decided to cast because they have seen the performance of the President,” he stated.
Uzodinma thanked the leaders and coordinators of the PBAT Movement for their efforts, urging them to remain committed to the President’s re-election campaign.
Addressing the movement’s door-to-door officers, the governor reminded them that their responsibility was to mobilise support for Tinubu and the APC.
“You are members of the APC. You are here to work for President Tinubu and the APC. There is no Rainbow Coalition in Imo State,” he declared.
The governor’s remarks come amid an ongoing disagreement between him and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, over the Rainbow Coalition, a political mobilisation platform bringing together Tinubu supporters across party lines.
While Wike has maintained that the coalition is designed to secure Tinubu’s re-election by drawing support from politicians outside the APC, some APC governors have expressed reservations about its activities and possible implications for their party’s political interests.
Uzodinma, who chairs the Progressive Governors Forum, has been among those questioning the coalition’s place in the ruling party’s campaign strategy.
His latest declaration underscores the position of the Imo APC leadership that the party should remain the primary platform for mobilising voters for Tinubu and other APC candidates in the 2027 elections.
