The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) has dissolved all its executive committees in Bauchi State and inaugurated a seven-member caretaker committee to manage the party’s affairs pending the election of new executives.
The decision affects the party’s structures at the ward, local government and state levels.

The party’s National Organising Secretary, Hamza Koshe Akuyam, announced the development on Tuesday in Bauchi during the inauguration of the caretaker committee at the Government House.
Akuyam explained that the dissolution followed recent developments within the party in the state, adding that the decision was taken at a meeting of the National Working Committee (NWC) and subsequently ratified by the National Executive Council (NEC) on Saturday.
He said the caretaker committee had been given a one-month mandate to oversee the party’s activities and organise congresses to elect new executives at all levels.
“I am standing here on behalf of the National Chairman, the National Working Committee and members of NEC to conduct this swearing-in ceremony,” Akuyam said.
The exercise is expected to produce a unified leadership structure following the merger of two party structures in the state.
In his acceptance speech, the newly inaugurated caretaker committee chairman, Shehu Adaji, pledged to promote transparency, inclusiveness and unity among party members.
Adaji expressed appreciation to the national leadership, led by the National Chairman, Yusuf Mamman Dantalle, for entrusting the committee with the responsibility of managing the party’s affairs in Bauchi.
He also acknowledged the support of the party’s national leader and Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, in facilitating the appointment.
The caretaker chairman said the committee would prioritise rebuilding the party’s grassroots structures, reconciling aggrieved members and strengthening cooperation between the state leadership and officials at the ward and local government levels.
He described ward and local government executives as essential to the party’s growth, stressing that their involvement would be crucial to rebuilding confidence and expanding the party’s membership.
Adaji called on party stakeholders to set aside their differences and work towards a united and disciplined organisation.
“We call on stakeholders and party members to put aside personal differences and work together for a united, disciplined and better organised APM in Bauchi State,” he said.
He assured members that the committee would operate in accordance with the party’s constitution and directives from the national leadership.
Other members of the seven-person caretaker committee are Bello Mahmoud, Isiyaku Abdullahi, Lubabatu Ibrahim, Adamu Shuaibu, Mantuda Halan and Buhari Gentle.
The committee is expected to use its one-month tenure to reconcile members, reorganise the party’s structures and conduct congresses aimed at producing substantive executives.
The development comes as political parties in Bauchi State continue to strengthen their internal structures and prepare for the 2027 general elections.
