Chancellor of Covenant University and popular Nigerian pastor, Bishop David Oyedepo, has urged graduates to focus on solving societal problems. He recently gave the advice on Friday during the institution’s 21st convocation ceremony in Ota, Ogun State, where 1,843 students graduated for the 2025/2026 academic session.
Stressing that the world needs problem solvers rather than storytellers or entertainers, Oyedepo urged the graduates to discover their purpose and develop their abilities to make meaningful contributions in their chosen fields.

Cautioning them against losing direction, the cleric added that life remains meaningless without a discovered purpose.
His words, “The world is not looking for storytellers or entertainers, but problem solvers.
Refuse to wander away from God-ordained place because displacement can be pitiable.
Don’t wait to see problems solved; but take steps to solve problems.”
