The Abia State chapter of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has urged security agencies to refrain from subjecting voters to any form of brutality during the upcoming local government elections on November 2.
Speaking in Umuahia on Thursday after a peace accord was signed by political parties in the state, Abia IPAC Chairman Nelcin Uluocha emphasized that any form of voter mistreatment would not be tolerated.
Uluocha, who also chairs the Young Progressive Party (YPP) in Abia, expressed the council’s commitment to ensuring a fair and peaceful election process.

Additionally, Uluocha criticized Alex Ikwuechegh, the member representing Aba North/Aba South Federal Constituency, for his alleged treatment of a Bolt driver, describing the conduct as “unacceptable” and condemning it in full.
He urged the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) to take disciplinary action to address the behavior of its members.
Uluocha also stated that Governor Alex Otti is not interfering with the functions of the Abia State Independent Electoral Commission (ABSIEC), underscoring the governor’s commitment to a fair election.
He called on Abia voters and political parties to maintain peace during Saturday’s election.
