Top stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia North have convened a strategic meeting aimed at repositioning the party to reclaim control of Abia State in the 2027 general elections.
The meeting, held at the Abriba residence of Hon. Mandela Obasi, who represents Ohafia North in the Abia State House of Assembly, brought together party leaders and members from the five local government areas that make up the Abia North zone.
During the meeting, the stakeholders unanimously agreed to put aside divisive tendencies and internal wrangling that affected the party’s fortunes in previous elections.

Abraham Amah, the PDP State Chairman, expressed optimism about the party’s resurgence, stating that the PDP is poised to reclaim the Abia State Government House and secure other key elective positions in 2027.
“The days of impunity and sentiment are over. Our party has returned to the people. Only candidates who emerge through credible primaries and have the capacity to win will fly our flag in 2027,” Amah declared.
He also issued a strong warning to party members working against PDP interests, saying such individuals would face divine consequences for their actions.
Hon. Mandela Obasi and Hon. Emmanuel Ndubuisi, member representing Bende South, both pledged their loyalty to the PDP, affirming their commitment to the party’s revival rather than defecting like some of their colleagues.
In a communique signed by Amah and other PDP leaders, the stakeholders pledged to work diligently towards ensuring the party reclaims the Abia State Government House in the next election cycle.
“The leaders categorically committed themselves to working assiduously towards ensuring that the PDP reclaims the Abia State Government House come 2027,” the communique read.
