The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has called for the immediate suspension of the Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation, Uche Nnaji, following allegations of certificate forgery.
Recent investigative reports alleged that the certificates submitted by the Minister during his screening process were fake, claiming that he was never issued any certificate by the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, where he purportedly graduated.
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) also reportedly disowned the discharge certificate presented by the Minister.

Reacting to the development, the ADC, in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, said it was not surprised that President Bola Tinubu had retained Nnaji despite the weighty allegations.
The party described the government’s silence on the matter as further evidence of what it called the administration’s tolerance for corruption.
“At this point, the question every Nigerian is asking is simple: if the Minister is not honourable enough to resign, why is the Tinubu administration still keeping him in office?” the statement read.
“By refusing to act, the Tinubu government and the APC are admitting their complicity in such fraudulent conduct at the highest levels of their government and making a mockery of their claims of fighting corruption,” it added.
The ADC urged the Presidency to suspend the Minister immediately pending a full, independent investigation, adding that if found guilty, Nnaji should not only be dismissed in disgrace but also prosecuted for forgery and perjury.
