The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Enugu State has dismissed reports alleging an attempt by the Obidient Movement to hijack the party’s structure in the state.
The rebuttal was contained in a press statement issued on Friday by the ADC Enugu State Media Team through the National Coordinator of ADC Like-Minds, Comrade Adolphus Ude.
Ude described the report as false, baseless, and unfounded, alleging that it was the handiwork of what he termed failed and confused politicians interfering in the affairs of the party.

He maintained that the Enugu State chapter of the ADC remains united under the leadership of the State Chairman, Comrade Stella Chukwuma, insisting that no faction exists within the party.
According to him, there is no division within the party, adding that the National Chairman of ADC, Senator David Mark, recently met with Chukwuma and approved the committees she constituted, including the Contact, Awareness and Sensitisation Committee, as well as the Media Committee.
Ude stated that members of the committees had since commenced work, mobilising support ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He further disclosed that leaders of the Obidient Movement attended a stakeholders’ meeting held at Universal Hotel, Enugu, last week, stressing that claims of factionalisation within the party were unfounded.
Ude urged members of the public to disregard the report, reiterating that the national leadership of the party recognises Chukwuma as the legitimate chairman of ADC in Enugu State.
He added that the party remains focused on ongoing membership registration and revalidation exercises, noting that the newly constituted Awareness and Sensitisation Committee would commence grassroots mobilisation to expand the party’s membership base.
