Sola Ebiseni, the Secretary-General of the pan-Yoruba socio-political organization, Afenifere, has officially rejoined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after a brief sojourn with the Labour Party.
His return on Wednesday evening at the PDP Secretariat in Alagbaka, Akure, is fueled by his ambition to vie for the governorship ticket in the upcoming 2024 polls in Ondo State.
Sources indicate that Ebiseni’s decision to return to the PDP is rooted in his aspiration to contest for the governorship, and he expressed this during his visit to the party’s secretariat.

He clarified that his temporary departure from the PDP was associated with his role in Afenifere, where he served as the Secretary-General.
Speaking on his party allegiance, Ebiseni affirmed that he has always been a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, holding no membership card from any other political entity.
He highlighted his commitment to acting as a unifying force within the party, emphasizing that his return is aimed at fostering unity, peace, and coherence.
Ebiseni revealed that his time away from active involvement in the PDP was due to his responsibilities as Afenifere’s Secretary-General. However, with his return, he pledged increased availability and dedication to the PDP’s cause.
He assured party leaders and stakeholders that he had engaged in extensive consultations and sought their support as he endeavors to contribute to reclaiming Ondo State in the upcoming elections.
In his own words, Ebiseni stated, “From now on, I will be much more available to serve as an agent of unity, peace, and unification.
I have consulted widely with the leaders and stakeholders and solicited their full support as we strive to reclaim our dear Sunshine State from utter darkness.”
