The Africa Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced plans to merge with other political parties in Nigeria to form a strong coalition aimed at defeating the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 elections.
The National Chairman of the ADC, Chief Ralphs Nwosu, revealed this during a press conference in Abuja on Wednesday, where he criticized the APC-led government, stating that it has failed Nigerians and performed poorly on all fronts.
Nwosu emphasized the need for the opposition to strategize and work together to create a new political system that prioritizes the people and the country’s development.

He announced that 22 political parties have joined forces with the ADC to form a new mega-party, with the goal of building a collaborative, value-driven ecosystem for a better Nigeria.
Nwosu highlighted the success of the APC, which was formed through a merger of opposition forces and urged all political leaders who share the vision of a new Nigeria to join the movement.
He noted that a united opposition could have defeated the APC in previous elections and expressed optimism that a strong coalition would achieve victory in 2027.
Prominent figures like Prof. Pat Utomi and the ADC have considered the formation of a mega-party as a strategy to dislodge the APC in the upcoming elections.
