Following the passing of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, the Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has been sworn in as the substantive Executive Governor of the state.
The oath of office was administered by the State Chief Judge, Justice Olusegun Odosola, at the Cocoa Conference Hall of the Governor’s office in Akure.
The swearing-in ceremony was attended by top judges in the state, government officials, and politicians, who gathered to witness the transition of power.

Earlier, Aiyedatiwa had arrived at the Governor’s office in Akure for the ceremony, marking the official assumption of his new role.
Governor Akeredolu passed away at the age of 67 in Germany after a prolonged battle with leukaemia. On December 12, he had handed over power to Aiyedatiwa ahead of another period of medical leave.
The swearing-in of Lucky Aiyedatiwa as the new Governor of Ondo State signals the beginning of a new era in the state’s leadership.
