The chairmanship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Moses Paul, has warned the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, that the will of voters must be respected in Saturday’s council election.
Paul issued the warning while addressing supporters and residents in Abuja ahead of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) council polls, urging citizens to remain resolute and confident in the electoral process.
He stressed that votes must count, noting that key political figures were present to safeguard the process.

“In terms of protecting the votes, Senator Kingibe is there, Senator Obika Joshua is there. So our votes must count,” he said.
The candidate added that the election would reflect the will of residents, insisting that the AMAC poll could not be manipulated.
“To the minister, this is not Obia-Akpor, you can’t write votes in AMAC. Somebody should tell the minister that Dr Mo says the will of the people will count,” Paul stated.
Paul also outlined his vision for a new direction in AMAC, promising bold leadership and policies aimed at addressing insecurity and economic hardship.
According to him, residents of the FCT are eager for governance that delivers tangible improvements to their daily lives.
“On Saturday, there’s going to be a new AMAC where boldness, objectivity, decisiveness and fearlessness will take centre stage.
“Enough of people dying, enough of poverty, enough of brigandage. We own this city. The city belongs to the people, the sovereign masses and the young people listening to me,” he added.
He called on young people and residents to participate actively in the election, describing the vote as an opportunity to reshape governance in the council.
