Christopher Maikalangu, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) chairmanship election, has secured victory at his polling unit.
According to official results, Maikalangu polled 229 votes to defeat his closest rival, Moses Paul of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), who received 15 votes.
Maikalangu, who cast his vote earlier in the day, expressed satisfaction with the voting process while speaking to journalists.

“I am impressed with the turnout today; you can see for yourself that my people are out here to vote. I am satisfied with the process. In less than three minutes, I cast my vote. I think everything is okay,” he said.
