Alphonsus Eba, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River State, has asserted that his party’s provision of good governance has led to the non-existence of opposition parties in the state.
In an interview in Calabar, the state capital, Eba stated that there is no need for opposition parties to operate in the state.
According to Eba, the APC has provided all the necessary answers to the people, leading to the non-existence of the opposition, particularly the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the state.

He expressed the belief that if the opposition behaves well, there would be a chance for their resurrection to join the APC.
Eba argued that there was never meant to be opposition in the state, as the APC has been delivering good governance.
He cited the alleged annihilation of Nigeria’s economy by the PDP and claimed that the APC has been working to resuscitate it.
He urged the opposition not to oppose the resuscitation of an economy that could propel the country to the next level.
Responding to concerns about autocracy due to the absence of opposition in Cross River State, Eba emphasized that the APC is a democratic and progressive party that believes in the power belonging to the people.
He stated that they can only drive this belief with humility.
