The National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Felix Morka, has denied allegations that the ruling party is compelling civil servants to participate in its ongoing nationwide e-registration exercise.
Morka dismissed the claim on Thursday while responding to questions during an interview on Arise Television, monitored by newsmen.
According to him, the party is already overwhelmed by the number of existing members and willing Nigerians seeking to register, making it unnecessary and unrealistic to coerce anyone.

“With every system, people have a tendency to make all kinds of allegations. It’s easy to allege, but substantiating such claims is the real challenge,” he said.
Morka explained that the high enthusiasm among party members had led to congestion on the registration platform, occasionally affected by network and technological challenges.
“The existing members of the party are crowded and struggling to register because the enthusiasm is high. They want to register, but sometimes we have downtime due to technology and network issues,” he said.
He described as “ridiculous” the suggestion that civil servants or unwilling individuals were being forced to register.
“Who has the time or incentive to compel people who do not want to register, or who are not disposed to joining the party, to do so? It is almost unimaginable,” Morka added.
The APC spokesman further noted that challenges with network connectivity in some parts of the country had prompted the party to deploy alternative device systems and technologies to enable supervisors and agents to temporarily register members in such areas.
He stressed that participation in the e-registration exercise remains voluntary and driven by personal interest, not compulsion.
