The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State, Benjamin Omale, has said the ongoing digital registration of members remains the most credible means of determining genuine party membership.
Omale stated that the nationwide APC e-registration exercise was designed to strengthen the party’s internal structure and would play a critical role in the re-election of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Hyacinth Alia in the 2027 general elections.

He made the remarks during the formal launch of the APC membership e-registration exercise in his hometown, Ohimini Local Government Area of the state.
The party chairman noted that wide participation in the exercise would open opportunities for members, stressing that the process was also central to securing victory for the APC at both state and national levels in 2027.
According to him, loyalty and commitment of party members are essential, as the digital register would serve as the foundation for political relevance, internal democracy and electoral success.
Omale warned that stakeholders who fail to participate in the exercise risk weakening the party they claim to support.
“In today’s political environment, data is power. A party that does not know its members cannot protect them, mobilise them or defend their votes,” he said.
“E-registration gives us a verified and credible digital membership register that will determine who votes in party primaries, who is recognised as a member, who qualifies for appointments and who the party stands with during elections.
“Let me be very clear: if your name is not in the APC e-registration database, you are politically invisible.”
He added that the exercise would determine those eligible to participate in selecting the party’s candidates and those who would benefit from APC-led administrations.
Omale stressed that no political figure, regardless of influence, could afford to stay outside the process, describing the initiative as vital to the future direction of the party.
He further said the APC must safeguard its membership structure against opportunists and external influences, noting that Governor Hyacinth Alia had fully endorsed the e-registration project.
According to him, the governor recognises that a strong party must be built on a transparent and dependable membership database, and has urged stakeholders at all levels to ensure the success of the exercise.
Omale also charged ward leaders, local government chairmen, as well as appointed and elected officials, to mobilise members, supervise the registration process and protect its integrity.
