The Imo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially released the names of its candidates set to contest in the upcoming local government elections scheduled for 21st September 2024.
The party confirmed that the list has been submitted to the Imo State Independent Electoral Commission (ISIEC).
In a press statement issued by the party’s State Publicity Secretary, Cajetan Duke, the APC announced the successful conclusion of its primaries for the selection of chairmanship and councillorship candidates.

Duke urged members of the public and the party to disregard any rumours or claims about changes or harmonisation of the list.
“Any information circulating about harmonisation to the list by any person or group, regardless of their standing in our party, should be disregarded and discountenanced,” Duke said.
He emphasised the party’s commitment to transparency, as affirmed by the party’s leader and Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma.
The APC is dedicated to maintaining a credible electoral process that reflects its core values, Duke added.
He also warned candidates and former aspirants to remain vigilant against any attempts to create discord or spread misinformation within the party.
“Our party’s strength lies in its unity and commitment to the values that have brought us this far,” Duke noted, urging members to work together for the party’s continued success.
Duke concluded by calling on all members and supporters to make the necessary sacrifices for unity and to ensure a smooth and successful election.
“We are poised to make a reasonable sacrifice to ensure the unity of our party and the success of the forthcoming elections.
We invite all our members and supporters to join us on this journey,” he said.
The local government elections are set to be a significant event for the APC in Imo State, as the party seeks to consolidate its influence in the region.
